Prodigal Son By Gregg Hurwitz

Instead of diving into plot details, I want to touch on what I think is one of the most impressive parts of Hurwitz's novels. In Prodigal Son, we see Evan Smoak (Orphan X) revisit many memories of his childhood and past. That being said, I am continually impressed with the continuity that Hurwitz is able to have. He fills in multiple blanks left in the pages of the first novel in the series, ORPHAN X. Questions about friends of Evan's, the mystery man, his family, all comes to a head in this novel. This interesting, lightning fast, non-stop plot runs alongside to Hurwitz's poetic writing style. Out of the hundreds of thriller books and authors I've read, Hurwitz's prose is still unparalleled. He's the Shakespeare of the thriller genre.

I can't recommend this book and series enough. It looks you in from the first pages, and the throttle is never let off until the last word.
