This was absolutely beautifully written! I loved how the entire book was written in first person, and we get to be in Cade’s head the whole time. The reader figures out early that this author, Mr. Michael Hearns, knows his stuff! His intimate knowledge of the streets of Miami would make any native feel proud, but also gives the people who have never been, a vivid picture of the battle ground.
Our main character, Cade Taylor, is a narcotics and money laundering under cover detective. Mr. Michael Hearns has an impressive background in the police force in Miami, and his first hand knowledge appears in the pages as well. Hearns has penned this world in such a way, that someone like me, who doesn’t even have the slightest clue what this world entails, was able to follow along with every twist and turn!
This was my first time reading a police detective thriller. It was beautifully written, and I can’t wait to read more from Michael Hearns!
