Eric Bishop delivers a decidedly compelling debut novel with The Body Man. I demolished it over a short 2-day period, propelled by various plot lines that urged me to pursue the denouement where everything would connect and the truth would be revealed. It’s an entertaining, twisting thriller that deserves to be published and read by the masses.
This book has great potential for a long-running series with characters that can continue to develop while unraveling nefarious plots and facing off against the powerful forces of evil. The two main characters, FBI veteran Agent Eli Payne and fresh-out-of-Quantico probationary agent Kat Stone, succeed as an emerging partnership with witty banter and the ability to play off each other’s strengths. The Body Man only scratches the surface of these two agents, and I anticipate there is a lot of depth to their backstories that I’m excited to see divulged in subsequent books.
They say you make your own luck, and I have no doubt Mr. Bishop is working his ass off to do just that. All he needs is a publishing house to see the passion and desire of this budding author and give him a chance. I believe it’ll be a win/win/win for the publisher, the author and readers when that comes to fruition.
