Yes, he accepts direction from his superior officer and focuses his team on completing the mission, but he also demonstrates the ability to think for himself, evaluate situations in the moment and make an informed decisions on the proper course of action. Which makes him a highly capable and likeable protagonist that readers will want to see more of in the future.
