Jack Carr has made a name for himself as an author of gritty in-your-face action scenes, violence of action that could only be written from someone who has experienced it, and twisted plot lines that are a brain teaser to solve. I have come to look forward to Carr’s latest release, and In The Blood is no different! James Reece is a wickedly smart character with a deadly skill set which makes these novels such a pleasure to read.
In The Blood kicks off with James Reece watching coverage of a terrorist attack on the news, only to figure out he knew one of the passengers. This passenger was traveling under an alias as she completed an assassination for Israel. Reece never thought he would see this women again after they worked together in Iraq. As Reece looks into this event, kill teams come out of the woodwork, and Reece learns that not is all as it appears.
Reece must utilize every skill set he has learned from his time as a Navy SEAL and more, and he comes to lean on entities he never thought he would need to rely on to fight his foes. As hit team after hit team comes after Reece, time becomes a commodity that he must learn to spend wisely throughout this novel. This is a truly gritty and terrifying read that packs a punch! Also, be ready for that ending...mistrust and manipulation run deep. The question is, can James Reece out run it?
Jack Carr has crafted an amazing novel. He writes such heart-pounding visceral reads that spurs the reader to keep reading. The fight scenes are expertly written, and are a joy to read! I can’t wait for everyone to read this, and for Carr to release the next novel! It can’t come soon enough.
