Ron Corbett brings the thunder with the second entry in the Danny Barrett series as the undercover agent infiltrates a dangerous crime family with a killer on the loose hunting the ones in the family who betrayed him.
When convictions have a chance of high chance of failing, Danny Barrett is called in. He’s hand-picked to tie a bank robbery in Seattle to a criminal organization with little evidence going against it. It’s up to Danny to break the ground on investigating the crime through the family. On top of that, he’s gonna have to watch his back from an in-law of the family who’s coming to exact his vengeance after he was wronged.
Cape Rage is a sucker-punch of a thriller that comes out of nowhere laced with somber dilemmas and vicious beatdowns and topped off with a fast pace to keep the readers hooked from the get-go. It’s a bona-fide crime thriller in that it disgusts you with its brutality and impresses you with its surprising change of tone in those bright moments that offset the darkness of this world. Danny Barrett is no doubt the leading character but Ron Corbett shines the character-spotlight superb across multiple folks in the story for a fantastic blend between character-driven and story-driven read.
Cape Rage is exciting, cool, dark, intriguing, and thought-provoking with some memorable moments and fast-paced crime drama to keep you hooked and turning the pages. The ending merits a long pause to just ponder the blood-filled events of the whole story and contemplate life in a different light.
