After a good friend gifted me the first book in the Tier One series, I was hooked. I went on to read them all, as soon as I could get my hands on them. And now, Andrews and Wilson has taken one of the minor characters from that series, and given him his own parallel storyline in the Tier One universe. Who wouldn’t love that, right?
Sons of Valor re-introduces us to Navy Seal Keith 'Chunk' Redman, who, for several years, has occasionally been in a support role with Team Ember; now he has his own team to run. Chunk has been tasked with assembling and leading the new Tier One Unit, which is America’s last line of defense against enemies that wish to do us harm.
The Team soon finds themselves being confronted by an enemy that has been watching, learning, and they now have a weapon that was thought impossible for them to possess. This is where Andrews and Wilson shine. The story is top-notch, great characters and phenomenal action scenes.
I don’t like to give anything away on a review, but suffice it to say that Andrews and Wilson have done it again. Chunk is an awesome protagonist, with a great supporting cast, and the action is non-stop. I don’t know if they share a brain, but these two make it look easy and seamless. Sons of Valor, though an off-shoot of the Tier One Series, stands entirely on its own. This is one of my top reads of the year and it is just that good.
