Meet Maddie Taylor
Background: I go by Maddie, but some people call me Mads! I became a huge fan of military thrillers through Brad Thor and Scot Harvath! Brad also got me started on military nonfiction as well. Brad Thor and Jack Carr are currently my favorite authors, but I'm a huge fan of Brad Taylor, Marc Cameron, Don Bentley, Rip Rawlings, Mark Greaney, AJ Tata, Vince Flynn/Kyle Mills...and others too.
Favorite Local/Indie Store: Half Price Books in Dallas, TX. It's the first store I went to a book signing at, and everyone there is super friendly. Great selection of book, and great prices as well.
A Bestselling Author That Is A Go-To: Brad Thor and Jack Carr, no doubt. I'll read anything by them any day.
An Author People Should Discover: Don Bentley! Only two books in and Matt Drake is an absolutely awesome character! So fun to watch him develop and figure things out as the stories go.
A Book You Would Recommend From 2020: Assault by Fire by Rip Rawlings! Awesome debut with the main character Tyce Asher and his crew! Can’t wait to see how the story continues to unfold!
A Book You Are Looking Forward To In 2021: Enemy at the Gates by Kyle Mills! Always looking forward to the next Mitch Rapp installment!
Charities You Support: Tomahawk Charitable Solutions, SOCF, C4 Foundation, The Station Foundation, Wounded Warriors Outdoors, 1MWave, SEAL Family Foundation, Green Beret Foundation, Spikes K9 Fund and All In All The Time Foundation.
Black Ice By Brad Thor
I was lucky enough to win an ARC straight from Brad, and I’m honestly so thrilled to not have had to wait to read it! It would’ve very well been worth it, but it was such a blast.
I always say Brad’s next book is better than the last, and that is the truth again! As much as I loved Scot Harvath on his own with nothing to lose in previous books, it was a lot of fun to have him back in a really good place. The main cast of characters never disappoint and we got some really fun introductions to a few characters I really hope to see again in future novels!
As for the rest of it, troubling things get set in motion very quickly and seem to slowly unfold over the story. Scot really has no idea what he has gotten himself and his team into, but I can guarantee you’re going to have a blast going along on the ride with him!
